WIND ENERGY How does the Kaski Clean Energy (KCE) system work? |
KCE is a wind generator installed on top of a tower that converts the wind into electricity to be used in a home's electrical system.
In our application, a home is served simultaneously by the KCE system and a local utility. If the wind speeds are below "cut-in speed" (8 mph) there will be no output from the generator and all of the needed power is purchased from the utility. As wind speeds increase, the KCE's output increases and the amount of power purchased from the utility is proportionately decreased. When the KCE produces more power than the house needs, the meter records the excess power, creating a credit.
All of this is done automatically without any interaction by the homeowner. Batteries are not required with KCE.
|
Will it help the environment if I install a Kaski Clean Energy (KCE) system at my Home? Because KCE is a renewable energy source, produces no pollution and uses wind power, you will be offsetting pollution that would have been generated by your utility company.
Does Kaski Clean Energy (KCE) create a sound or interfere with TV reception? KCE generally cannot be heard over typical background noise such as the sound of the wind. KCE does not interfere with TV reception.
Should my neighbors be concerned about safety if I get a Kaski Clean Energy (KCE) system? Tower stability: Thousands of small wind generators are installed in the U.S. every year and their safety track record is excellent.
Safety of utility repair personnel during a power outage: In accordance to IEEE and UL, KCE will automatically shut down in the event of a power outage and will not energize a dead power line. This is necessary to protect the utility line repair person. Back |

LOW-E WINDOWS DUAL PANE, DOUBLE-GLAZED, ARGON FILLED, 100% ENERGY STAR RATED |
 |
Low-E, the abbreviation for low emissivity glass, has an invisible, metallic coating that admits the full spectrum of sunlight but blocks radiant heat from escaping. During the winter months, between 70 and 75 percent of the heat that would otherwise escape from the house is reflected back into the home for energy savings. Because the coating also increases the inside window's surface temperature, areas near them are more comfortable on cold winter nights.
During the cooling season, as much as 25 percent of the unwanted heat that would otherwise enter the house is reflected to the outside. The Low-E coating blocks ultraviolet light that would normally fade fabrics and other materials.
Our windows are dual-paned and argon filled. This means you have a layer of glass on the exterior, a space filled with argon gas and a layer of glass on the interior. The argon gas acts as an insulator and insulates better than just air can. Add this insulation to your Low-E coating and you have some of the most efficient windows made.

2” X 6” WALLS |
 |
At Kaski Homes, Inc. we build our homes with quality and efficiency in mind.
All exterior walls, even the garage are 2” x 6” walls. This means there is more space between you and the elements. Also our homes are more structurally sound than those built with 2” x 4” exterior walls.

INSULATION |
 |
We insulate our walls with R-22 rated fiberglass insulation
and our ceilings with R-38 fiberglass insulation.
The higher the number the more efficient the insulation is. Many will use R-11 in their walls and R-22 in the ceiling. We believe you should have the best and most efficient home for your money.

TYVEC HOUSEWRAP |
 |
DuPont™ Tyvek® Housewrap combats the elements.
Water, moisture and air infiltration are repelled from the building to alleviate the problems of mold, mildew and wood rot. Air infiltration can create comfort-robbing cold or warm spots, which can increase heating and cooling costs. The housewrap helps to end this worry and increase your comfort. Because of it’s resistance to air and moisture infiltration DuPont™ Tyvek® Housewrap makes for a more comfortable, energy-efficient home.

FLUORESCENT LIGHTING |

 |
- These bulbs use about 75% less energy than
standard incandescent bulbs and last up to 10 times longer.
- Save about $30 or more in electricity
costs over each bulb’s lifetime.
- Produce about 75% less heat, so they are safer to
operate and can cut energy costs associated with home cooling.
